Hello.
I have some information regarding the recording of Adge Cutler & The Wurzels for the HTV Bristol programme 'The Great Western Musical Thunderbox'.
I attended the recording with a friend who was a fellow student at Redland Teacher Training College (now closed). The student union had been given dozens of free tickets to attend the recording - only two of us turned up.
I remember that the studio floor manager was concerned about the lack of an audience. They resolved it by getting children (who were in another studio, attending some sort of school quiz programme) to come in and be an audience. I remember that they didn't want to show their school uniforms in the shots so they were kept very much in the background and in the dark. Not so the two of us.
I can only recall one of the songs that Adge Cutler and the Wurzels performed; the chorus went 'There ain't no ferry to Glastonbury'.
I'd be very interested to find out if footage still exists - for no other reason that to see how young we looked then. Adge didn't perform at Redland College whilst I was there (I believe he died before I left in 1975). I was on the social committee which booked bands for gigs.
