Amazing where surfing on YouTube will lead.....
I have just discovered the Ode to Adge. What a beautiful song - it had me in tears and I was transported back 40 years to when I was in my teens and just getting into pub and folk club music, and Adge Cutler and the Wurzels were the biggest and best of them all. My parents bought all their LPs, and I knew every song. Even though I haven't heard most of those songs for about 30 years, I can still remember most of the choruses and hearing all the references to the songs in Ode to Adge was wonderful.
Sadly I no longer live in the West Country, but I do hope Ode to Adge got a lot of attention on local TV and radio, it certainly deserved it. I would be interested to know what prompted Pete to write it, so long after Adge's untimely death.
If the Wurzels read this board, I would just like to say "thank you" for a beautiful song, beautifully performed. I would love to see a video on YouTube of you singing it live.
