Hi Mangledfans, I have just had confirmation that advanced tickets are going well for The Mangledwurzels' gig at The Vic in Swindon this Saturday (15th Nov). This is The Mangledwurzels' debut gig in Swindon, so it will be nice to play to a packed house; so please come along and add your support if you are in the area. Also don't forget tonight (Fri 14th) The Mangledwurzels at The Fire Engine in Redfield, Bristol. A nice friendly locals pub in the Bristle suburbs. We've played there before and had a good night. It'll be much more fun than all that charity rubbish on the BBC! Enjoy! Jethro Tool The Mangledwurzels www.mangledwurzels.co.uk

It's a good job that the real Wurzels have a better attitude towards raising funds for Charity. I applaud the work that the BBC are doing to raise funds for members of our society that need support. Maybe you should try doing some Charity work, and the world would be a better place.

"Maybe you should try doing some Charity work" Maybe, Miss Angry, The Mangledwurzels already do some charity work - certainly the people at R.I.C.E. in Bath (Alzheimer's), Happy Landings Animal Sanctuary, Somerset & Dorset Air Ambulance, Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service, Burtle Village Hall Fund, a Donkey Charity in Wells, and Churchdown Scouts (Glos) were all happy with The Mangledwurzels charity gigs this year. As did the recipients of the money from The Mangledwurzels charity single last Christmas. And I'm sure various other charities that The Mangledwurzels didn't know we were raising money for were equally happy... and maybe the world IS a better place as a result. I know our rescue ex-battery chickens feel so We will know how much The Mangledwurzels collected over the weekend for Children In Need! in the next few days. We refused to play any encores unless people put some money in the hat (Hedge's hat) which was passed around; and the people were refreshingly generous! But I do stand by my initial comments. I saw the 'highlights' of several hours of Children In Need! broadcasting; and I think that the crowd watching The Mangledwurzels at the Fire Engine had a much better night of entertainment. IMHO, of course! Jethro Tool of The Mangledwurzels PS I'm sure The Wurzels raised loads more money, of course, but they do play to bigger crowds!

The answer is I have I have done lots of charity events raising money for children. I have also worked voluntary with different organizations with children from 6 to 18 years. I have also served my country in the Territorial Army (first Gulf War) and much more.

Maybe you should try doing some Charity work Dear Miss Angry, The line "Maybe you should try doing some Charity work" was obviously (or at least should have been) a quotation of something you aimed at the band - not something I was levelling at you. And as it was an accusation unfounded and not based on any knowledge of the charity work the band has done - I felt it warranted a nice polite answer. I'm not sure WHY you are so angry. Maybe if you stopped hiding behind anonymous messages sent under a pseudonym, and tried joning the forum and making friends, you might stop being so angry. And maybe that might help make the world a better place... Jethro Tool The Mangledwurzels www.mangledwurzels.co.uk
