After a particulary high-brow (but raucous none-the-less) army gig in Warminster last weekend where The Mangledwurzels provided the entertainment at the Officers Chrismtas Party (a best gaiters and clean wellies do!), this weekend sees the band with two public gigs over the weekend. First up is a welcome return to the Pilot in Melksham on Friday 12th December. The Mangledwurzels played there in June 2007 (when it was a lot warmer than it is now!). Not an obvious music pub from the outside, but inside a nice raised area in one corner makes for a good stage which everyone can see. A little out-of-town, but plenty of free parking outside - and free entry. The Mangledwurzels should be on stage at 9pm. address: The Pilot, 56 Blenheim Park, Melksham, Wiltshire SN12 6TA (01225 790599) Saturday (13th December) sees The Mangledwurzels making a return trip to the Somerset Levels, and the little village of Burtle. We played at their Harvest Home party back in August 2008 (on my birthday!) - and a great night was had by all. This time we are in the Tom Mogg Inn, and we're looking forward to putting on a proper Somerset night's entertainment! address: Tom Mogg Inn, Station Road, Burtle, Somerset TA7 8NU (01278 722399) Free entry mangledtrivia - Burtle failed to get lottery funding to refurbish their village hall, so instead they are doing it themselves using recycled wine bottle, straw bales and sheep fleeces. And all those old tents from the Glastonbury Festival? They are going in there too. It's great idea! See you there!
